Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Apotos Day Stage 1

Sonic Unleashed really received a lot of mixed reactions... and the fact that it had basically two completely different versions only intensified this. I actually like the game... I find it delightfully average, which is miles above many of the Sonic games that came before it. Yes it has problems, but it also has plenty of good about it. Either way, this video shows the game's little intro stage.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Apotos Day Stage 2

Speaking of the game's two different versions... I strictly prefer the Wii game over the PS3/360 game. While the other version may have a few perks to it, especially when it comes to the game engine, the Wii version makes up for it with a lot more solid gameplay, much less linear stages, and being an overall less tedious experience. Anyways... this is the first full length Day Stage of the game.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Apotos Day Missions

Each continent has a series of missions you can do during both the day and the night. Some of the missions have to be completed in order to proceed, while others are stricly optional. This is Apotos's Day Missions batch.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Apotos Night Stage 1: Moonlit Town

Da na na naaa naaaAAAAAA... da na na naaa... na na na... NA! Ahem... if I could complain about one single thing in this game, it would not be the werehog concept at all, oh no, it would be the game's battle music! It plays every freaking time an enemy swarm shows up, and takes so long to fade out you almost never get to hear the game's night stage themes... and those themes tend to be really good, too!

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Apotos Night Stage 2: Moonsoaked Alleys

The Wii version did something that is quite smart compared to the PS3/360 version when it comes to the night stages... Instead of it all being one massive stage, the Wii version divided the stage into smaller chunks. I prefer this over big, long stages, as I find very long stages have a lot less replay value.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Apotos Night Stage 3: Hill Beneath Starry Skies

The Apotos Night Stages are all pretty simple... They are meant to get you used to the werehog's gameplay. I still just relate it to basic Knuckles gameplay, except with stretchy arms to grab various poles and ledges to get the same effect as gliding and climbing walls.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Mazuri Boss: Egg Beetle

The Day Stage bosses in this game are all extremely dull and boring... You can pretty much just mash boost to win most of the time... This boss is a good example of that. The continent of Mazuri itself got almost entirely cut from the Wii version of the game, which I will admit is not a point in its favour... oh well.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Spagonia Day Stage

This may very well be my favourite stage in the entire game. This stage has it all, really. Plenty of paths to take, a nice look and layout, absolutely fantastic music, and lots of neat little stunts... what more could you want? It is fun to play, fun to listen to, and just an overall positive experience!

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Spagonia Day Missions

Spagonia actually has quite a few Day Missions in it! Several have to be unlocked, though, so if you do not have one in your list, do not worry, you will probably unlock it from exploring other stages eventually.

Sonic Unleashed (Wii) - Spagonia Night Stage 1: Alleys of Spagonia

The night stages of Spagonia are still pretty simple overall, but they can throw in the occasional tough spot. The theme here is the inner city itself, fighting various enemies within its streets. Just remember to be fast and thorough to get those S ranks!
